This course is designed to equip seniors with knowledge about basic concepts on electromechanical energy conversion, the operating characteristics of electrical machines and transformers, and their performance analysis based on steady-state equivalent circuit models. |

A student who completes the course successfully will Know basic concepts on magnetic circuits: magnetization, energy storage, hysteresis and eddy current losses, Know basic operating principles of power transformers, Learn basic concepts on electromechanical energy conversion, Be aware of basic operating principles of rotating machines, Apply the techniques learned in the class to DC machine applications, Apply steady-state equivalent circuit modeling techniques for performance calculation of transformers and some electrical machines. |
